OVU's Taylor Claims WVIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Honors

Women's Basketball Player of the Week (12/8-14):
   
---Brittany Taylor, Ohio Valley, 5-9, Fr., G, Pittsburgh, PA:  Taylor is the first Ohio Valley women's player since December 2002 to take WVIAC weekly honors after averaging 12.5 points, 7.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.5 steals in a pair of Lady Scot victories...The rookie guard led OVU in scoring in wins against Ursuline and Alderson-Broaddus, while dishing out at least six assists in both triumphs

Other top efforts: Davis & Elkins' Courtney Bunner (14 points, 10 rebounds in win over Bluefield State), Charleston's Jihan Williams (15 points, 14 rebounds in win against Concord), Wheeling Jesuit's Kourtney Booth (16 points in rout of Salem International), Bluefield State's Christina Smyre (18 points, 11 rebounds in loss to D&E), Salem International's Jessica Lockett (19 points in loss to Wheeling Jesuit), Concord's Amber Showalter (17 points, 9 rebounds in loss to Charleston), Glenville State's Mallory Menendez (16 points in loss to Urbana), Alderson-Broaddus' Tori Charley (13 points, 12 rebounds in loss to Ohio Valley), and West Virginia State's Sandrea Coleman (12 points in loss to Division I powerhouse Pitt).
