Trio Of Golden Eagles Earn NSCAA All-American Honors

(KANSAS CITY, KS)---A trio of University of Charleston men's soccer players have earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America national honors.  Midfielders Predrag Ivanovic and Rob Vincent are second team All-Americans, while forward Dion Peters is a third team selection.

Ivanovic netted seven goals for the Golden Eagles, including four game-winners.  The Smederevska Palanka, Serbia sophomore also added eight assists to end the season with 22 points. 

Vincent tallied nine goals to rank third on the squad.  The WVIAC Freshman of the Year also made contributions defensively as the Golden Eagles only allowed 16 scores in 23 matches.

Peters paced the WVIAC in scoring with 18 goals and 41 points.  The WVIAC Player of the Year also fired in five game-winning goals, including a performance that accounted for all of the scoring in a 2-0 NCAA Tournament victory over then-No. 4 Millersville.

The 19-4-0 Golden Eagles captured the WVIAC regular season and tournament titles before taking the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region championship on their way to a spot in the national quarterfinals.  UC finished ranked No. 7 nationally in the final NSCAA Division II Top 25 of the season.
