Dan Bruner tallied a team-high 22 points and hit a pair of clutch three-pointers as Fairmont State moved into third place in the WVIAC standings following an 86-83 win at Alderson-Broaddus.
Fairmont State 86, Alderson-Broaddus 83
(PHILIPPI)---Fairmont State hit seven of eight free throws in the final minute to hold off Alderson-Broaddus 86-83. The victory ended a ten-game losing skid for the Falcons in the series. Dan Bruner paced FSU with 22 points, while Chris Talley added 15. Terrence Green and Isaac Thornton tallied 14 points each.
Alderson-Broaddus got 20 points from Carl Buck. Terrell Eargle notched 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists.
A 7-0 burst in the final minutes keyed by four Talley points and a key Bruner three-pointer allowed Fairmont State to turn a 71-69 deficit into a 76-71 lead.
West Liberty 100, Davis & Elkins 60
(ELKINS)---Nationally ranked West Liberty built a 52-20 halftime lead and coasted to a 100-60 road win at Davis & Elkins. The Toppers forced 25 turnovers and led by as many as 49 midway through the second half. John Wolosinczuk's 17 points and 9 rebounds led WL. Scott Mirich tallied 13 points, while Mike Mathey and Jordan Fortney each registered a dozen points.
Reggie Cook's 14 points paced D&E. Dorian Valentine added 11 points and a team-best 8 rebounds.
Ohio Valley 73, West Virginia Wesleyan 68
(BUCKHANNON)---Rodney Everage notched 18 points and 13 rebounds in Ohio Valley's road win at West Virginia Wesleyan. Solomon Tate and Donavin Vinson both added 13 points for the Fighting Scots.
Dominique Ngniman recorded a double-double of 21 points and 19 rebounds in defeat for Wesleyan. Justin Caldwell added 14 points, but only connected on 6-of-21 field goal attempts.
West Virginia State 107, Salem International 76
(SALEM)---Cookie Miller registered 24 points and 8 assists as West Virginia State rolled at Salem International. Bo King added 22 points and Darren Jones dished out 13 assists. Jason Emerson connected on six three-pointers to end with 18 points for the Jackets.
Salem, which trailed 49-35 at the half, was led by Kendall Allison's 22 points and 13 rebounds. Demetrick Walker ended with 17 points and 7 rebounds.
Charleston 100, Methodist 70
(CHARLESTON)---Charleston shot 59 percent from the field to dispose of Division III Methodist 100-70. Bahaadar Russell's 22 points led five Golden Eagles in double figures. Ronald Kinney tallied 18 points and John White ended with 17.
Methodist was led by Poca, WV native Tyler Sigman's 16 points.
