WVIAC Men's Basketball Players Take Four Of Six Spots On NABC All-Atlantic Region Squad

WVIAC Player of the Year Terrell Eargle is one of four WVIAC players named to the NABC All-Atlantic Region first team.

(KANSAS CITY, MO)---WVIAC players take four of the six spots on the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II All-Atlantic Region first team.  West Virginia State teammates Darren Jones and Josh Miller are joined by Alderson-Broaddus' Terrell Eargle and West Liberty's Corey Pelle on the region's top squad as selected by NABC member coaches.  West Liberty's Mike Mathey earned second team honors.

Jones (5-9, Sr., G, Cleveland, OH) helped West Virginia State to a 29-4 record and the WVIAC Tournament title.  The senior guard tallied 20.6 points per game to rank second in the league.  He also stood among the WVIAC's leaders in assists with 5.5 per outing.

Miller (5-6, Jr., G, Charleston, WV) was named the MVP of the WVIAC Tournament.  The Nebraska transfer ranked among the conference leaders in scoring (19.7 ppg, 6th), assists (5.1 apg, 5th), and steals (2.6, 4th).

Eargle (6-4, Sr., G, Youngstown, OH) is one of the WVIAC's most versatile players in recent seasons and earned the league's Player of the Year accolades.  The senior scored 15.2 points per game while leading the league in rebounding (10.9 rpg) and steals (3.2).

Pelle (6-0, Jr., G, Silver Grove, KY) paced West Liberty to the most successful season in school history.  The 29-3 Toppers won the WVIAC regular season title and reached the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional championship game.  Pelle contributed 17.7 points, 5.1 assists, and 2.7 steals per game to rank in the WVIAC's top ten in each category.

Mathey (6-2, Sr., G, Prospect, OH) scored 15.6 points per game and dished out 6.3 assists per game.  The senior orchestrated the first WVIAC attack to average 100 points per game since 1991 as the Toppers tallied 100.9 points per outing in 2009-10.
