Nichole Pitcock
Shepherd's Nichole Pitcock led her team to a 7-1 week by batting over .500 and earning three pitching victories.

Softball Player of the Week (4/12-18):
---Nichole Pitcock, Shepherd, Jr., 1B/P, Sterling, VA: Pitcock led Shepherd to a 7-1 week by batting .538 (14-26) with eight runs scored and nine runs batted in...The junior powered SU to a 6-1 win over regionally ranked and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division champion West Chester on Sunday with four hits in as many at-bats, including a pair of doubles...She also recorded a grand slam to account for all of the scoring in a 4-0 win against Davis & Elkins...Additionally, Pitcock had three wins in four decisions as a pitcher.

Other nominees: Wheeling Jesuit's Shaynna Johnson (14-26, 4 2B, 3 HR in 3-5 week), WV Wesleyan's Kashilia Young (7-15, 7 runs scored), Seton Hill's Lisa Kaczynski (13-28, 4 extra-base hits), Fairmont State's Abbey Wilson (10-22, walk-off homer in win over Charleston).

Softball Pitcher of the Week (4/12-18):
---Tricia Bettura, Soph., Canfield, OH: Bettura wins her fourth WVIAC weekly pitching honor of 2010 after going 4-0 with an 0.29 earned run average...The sophomore compiled shutouts against Seton Hill, Alderson-Broaddus, and Davis & Elkins...She also posted a 6-1 win against regionally ranked West Chester...For the week, Bettura fanned 24 hitters in 24.0 innings...The Canfield, OH native scattered 10 hits and only walked three during that span.

Other nominees: WV Wesleyan's Kaitlyn Carey (3-0, 21 IP, 23 K, 13 H, 5 R, 2 ER), WV State's Kelsey Loraine, Fairmont State's Chelsea Cobb (4 W, 28 IP, 2.25 ERA).
