(INDIANAPOLIS)---The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee has released the final regular NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rankings of the 2010 season.
WVIAC teams have a strong presence in both sets of rankings. League schools own half of the ten spots on the men's side led by top-ranked West Virginia Wesleyan. No. 2 Bluefield State possesses the highest NCAA regional ranking for any sport in school history. Other WVIAC representatives include No. 5 West Liberty, No. 7 Charleston, and No. 9 Concord.
Fourth-ranked Charleston is the highest ranked WVIAC women's squad. The Golden Eagles are followed immediately in the ratings by No. 5 West Virginia State and No. 6 West Virginia Wesleyan. Shepherd holds the eleventh spot.
WVIAC men's squads battle this weekend in Charleston for the league's automatic bid into the Division II Atlantic Regional. West Virginia Wesleyan won the WVIAC women's tennis tournament earlier and owns automatic qualification for the regional.
