(CHARLOTTE, NC)---Three WVIAC athletes earned All-America status with top eight performances at this weekend's NCAA Division II national championship meet.

West Virginia Wesleyan's Ricky Kump placed fifth in the decathlon and was the highest league finisher.  The Berkeley Springs, WV senior racked up 6,770 points to become the first Bobcat All-American since Tyler Blatchley in 2008.

Concord's Shawnee Carnett capped off a magnificent freshman season with a seventh place finish in the women's 800 meter run.  The Sugar Grove, VA rookie recorded a time of 2:09.84 to smash the school record en route to earning All-American honors.

Seton Hill's Josh Wilks earned All-American status by the narrowest of margins.  The Geneva, Ohio junior, who was named as the event's Elite 88 Award winner for academic achievement on Wednesday, finished eighth in the men's 800 meter run with a time of 1:50.87. 

Wheeling Jesuit's Emily Taylor narrowly missed a top eight spot, finishing ninth in the discus with a toss of 146'0.  West Virginia Wesleyan's Kevoy Douglas (21.527) was tenth in the 200 meter dash, while Wheeling Jesuit's Sarah Campanelli rounded out the WVIAC performances with a 16th place effort in the 1500 meter run (4:45.68).
