(JOHNSTOWN, PA)---Seton Hill exploded for nine first inning runs and the Griffins cruised to their first WVIAC Baseball Tournament championship with a 14-3 victory over West Virginia State.

Griffin pitcher Andrew Dinardo took advantage of his team's fast start and shackled the State bats, allowing five hits and two runs in seven innings. He punched out seven and walked three to improve his record to 5-2.
McCarthy and Henry each posted three hits for an SHU attack that ended with 14 safeties. Michael Leviseur and Pat Trettel added two hits each. Trettel also homered and knocked in three. Additionally, Tom Deangelis swatted a home run for the Griffins.
Josh Bower and Bo Darby both notched two hits to lead the State attack. Starter Kyle Rucker was touched for six hits and nine runs to suffer the defeat. C.J. Meadows provided the Jackets with a strong relief outing of 5 2/3 innings. He allowed six hits and two earned runs, while fanning five.
